Every year brings us new inventions on some level. Whether it is a new phone or new headphones or a TV, technology can surprise us with every single year. 2021 is not that different, albeit the inventions of this year have been slowed down, almost to a stop. Why is that, one might wonder? Well, it has something to do with a global pandemic.
Regardless, inventions there were, or rather, are and here are the best of them, in no particular order.
LG Transparent TV
LG is always in the absolute forefront of innovation, at least when it comes to the TVs and similar gear. Their transparent TV has no specific release date but it was showcased at CES and to many people’s pleasure, the TV looks absolutely amazing. The TV can go to around 40% transparency. Why one would need such a TV is a question that LG will probably have the answer to once they release it and people start buying it.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
The name is a mouthful but Samsung finally got the flip phone right. We all loved flip phones when they were around. Having an entire screen in the front flip, have very strong hinges and still have decent battery life and be completely waterproof is a big win for Samsung. The phone also has all the newest features, including 120Hz refresh rate and all the other stats that phone lovers enjoy.
Anker Nebula Solar Portable Projector
Anker has some cool gadgets to show us and this portable projector is one of them. Setting it up is pretty easy and it takes nothing more than a USB or HDMI connection to get it going. It has a rechargeable battery so you can watch up to 3 hours of 1080p quality movies with it. No extra wires are needed unless you plan on charging it again.
Nikon Z FC
Everybody loves a nice mirrorless camera. Nikon are great at making these, but the Z FC looks somewhat like an older device, something that your father or grandfather would have used in the 80s. Well, the Z FC is a modern camera in every aspect, with a large 20.9 megapixel sensor and can accept full frame lenses. It is a great camera that also looks even better, especially considering its modern rivals and their aesthetics.
Valve Steam Deck
Valve makes great products and the Steam Deck looks like a direct rival to the Nintendo Switch. The benefits of the Steam Deck is that it is using the newest AMD processors and graphics cards, all of which are optimized for low power and high performance. You can play any of the Steam games with decent quality. Expect the device in December, although getting one will be challenging.
These are some of the most interesting gadgets that have been or will be released in 2021. Stay updated, new products are always on the horizon and some of them might interest you.
